Freeview TV(Digital)
Starting in 2007, and ending in 2012, all TV in the UK will go completely digital. This process is called digital TV switchover and it's going to happen TV region by TV region.
You may think that you are already Digital if you have Sky or Virgin in the front room and you would be right, However this does not mean that the rest of your house is digital ready!
Why not? Because if you do not have Sky or Virgin in any other room then the TV reception in those rooms will come from the aerial, once the switchover happens you will lose normal Tv viewing in those rooms unless they all have Digital set top boxes or Digital Tv's, this is why you need to be sure that the reception in those rooms are ready for the switchover.
Aerials & more will carry out a free site survey on your property and advise whether or not you need a new aerial etc suitable for digital reception.
At the moment postcode checkers online will state that you cannot get freeview unless you live in a perfect reception area. however we find this quite untrue, by using the right aerial, cable etc we can get all of channels most of the time, very rarely do we leave a customer without all the channels!
In some areas Freeview is a no go and we would then advise another digital platform such as the non subscription Freesat service from the BBC and ITV, or Sky.
For most of our aerial installations in Brighton we are able to guarantee reception for all the Freeview channels.
